Privacy

In short

  • You can play everything without an account and without giving consent.
  • We do not sell data or email addresses.
  • Statistics only run if you agree in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time at the bottom of every page under “Cookie settings”.
  • Accounts and progress are stored on our server in Germany.

Controller

Nomads Digital Kft., Levente utca 14/A, 2161 Csomád, Hungary, represented by Jan Rojek. Email: contact@nomads-digital.com, phone: +31 684951043. We are not required to appoint a data protection officer; just write to this address with any question.

Playing without an account

  • Your progress (coins, streak, stats, settings) then stays only in your browser’s storage on this device. It does not leave the device.
  • Your own photos for jigsaws stay on your device and are not uploaded.
  • To improve the site and keep shop prices fair, the site sends us daily totals: how many visits there were (with language and a rough source such as search engine or direct), which games were opened and won, and how many coins were earned and spent. Nothing in them points to you (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • Only if you agree to statistics does your browser also keep a random number, so we can count how many devices play each day. It is not linked to you or your account.

Cookies and browser storage

Some things must be kept in your browser for the site to work. They need no consent (Section 25(2) of the German TDDDG and the matching rules in France and the Netherlands). Everything else only happens if you say yes (Section 25(1) TDDDG, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

  • Always: “minou_session” (sign-in, only with an account, 30 days), “minou_lang” (chosen language, 1 year), “minou.*” entries in browser storage (progress, settings, whether a hint was already shown; kept until you delete them) and “minou.consent” (your cookie choice, 6 months; then we ask again).
  • With a yes to “Statistics”: “minou.econDevice” (random number for counting devices, kept until you withdraw).
  • Withdrawing: at the bottom of every page under “Cookie settings”. If you take back a yes, we delete the related cookies and reload the page without those services.

With an account

  • For an account we store your email address, an encrypted password (we cannot read it), your display name, your chosen picture, your language and your progress, so it is the same on all your devices.
  • The legal basis is performance of the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The data is stored on our server at Hetzner in Germany.
  • If you sign in with Google, Apple or Facebook, that provider (Google Ireland Ltd., Apple Distribution International Ltd. or Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.) sends us your name and email address. We use them only to create your account or sign you in.
  • You can create an account from the age of 16.
  • You can delete your account on the account page at any time. We then delete all related data, except purchase records we are required to keep.
  • Leaderboard: only if you choose a name for the leaderboard yourself (tournament or daily ranking) do we show that name publicly with your time and place. We never show your email address. You can switch this off on the account page at any time. For tournaments we also store the start and end time of your tries, to measure the time fairly; single tries are deleted after 14 days.

Daily puzzle by email and offers

  • You only get these emails if you ask for them and click the link in our confirmation email (double opt-in). The daily puzzle and partner offers are two separate tick boxes. Partners never get your address; we send the offers ourselves.
  • We store your email address, your choice, language, the time of your confirmation and an encrypted value (hash) of your IP address as proof. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
  • Every email contains an unsubscribe link. You can withdraw your consent at any time; we then remove your address from the list.
  • Emails are sent through Google Workspace (Gmail) by Google Ireland Ltd. as our processor.

Buying coins

  • If you buy coins, you pay with Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. (Ireland). Stripe processes your payment data under its own responsibility (stripe.com/privacy). We only receive the confirmation, the amount and your email address, no card or bank details.
  • Legal basis: performance of the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Purchase records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires (8 years in Hungary, Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).

Photo puzzles

  • While you design, your photo stays on your device. Only when you order do we upload the chosen part to our server in Germany and pass it with the delivery address to our print partner, who prints and ships the puzzle (performance of the contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Payment is handled by Stripe. If your photo is too small for the chosen size, we have it enlarged and sharpened automatically by Leonardo.Ai (Leonardo Interactive Pty Ltd, Australia) before printing; the photo and the result are deleted there right afterwards.
  • We delete the photo 30 days after shipping, unpaid orders after 2 days. Order records are kept as long as tax law requires.
  • For the note when photo puzzles launch we store your email address, your choice and the time you confirmed (double opt-in, consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in the email.

Hosting and language

The website is hosted by Vercel Inc. (USA), which acts as our processor and is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. When you visit, technically necessary data such as IP address, time and the address requested is processed and kept briefly in logs (legitimate interest in a safe, working site, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The country of your IP address is used only to show the right language. Accounts, progress and orders are stored on our server at Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany.

Who receives your data

Only the service providers named above, and only for the stated purpose: Vercel, Hetzner, Google (Gmail), Stripe, our print partner and Leonardo.Ai for photo puzzles. Processors are bound by contract to our instructions. If data leaves the EU, this is based on an adequacy decision or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

  • You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability (Art. 15 to 20 GDPR).
  • Where we process data based on legitimate interest, you can object at any time (Art. 21 GDPR).
  • You can withdraw any consent at any time for the future: cookies under “Cookie settings”, emails with the link in every email.
  • Just write to contact@nomads-digital.com. We answer within one month.
  • You can complain to any data protection authority, for example the Hungarian authority NAIH responsible for us (naih.hu), the authority of your federal state in Germany, the CNIL in France (cnil.fr) or the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens in the Netherlands (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).

Other

You do not have to give us any data; without an email address there is simply no account and no email. We make no automated decisions about you and do not build a profile of you.
